Cabin Refurbishment Management
A corporate jet is intended to be used frequently by its owner. As the aircraft ages, its cabin begins to show signs of wear and the original, highly capable communications, entertainment and galley systems may no longer meet an owner’s and their passenger’s expectations.
An owner may seek a “light” cabin refurbishment to re-upholster seats, repair damaged surfaces and replace the carpet, while also updating the entertainment and communications systems to the newest standards. Ideally, this work is scheduled in conjunction with a heavy maintenance input to minimize downtime.
Savvy corporate jet buyers may purchase an aircraft with excellent pedigree but with a worn or outdated cabin. Generally, these aircraft are attractively priced but require refurbishment before entry into service. A professional assessment of the aircraft’s technical condition combined with a budgetary estimate for an innovative cabin re-design provide the necessary facts to support a potential buyer’s decision.
Occasionally, a client may have owned their corporate jet since new and has decided that a full refurbishment and system upgrade is necessary. The aircraft has been fully depreciated and newer models are expensive. Whether a Bombardier Global, Airbus ACJ or Boeing BBJ, these aircraft are ideal candidates for a full cabin refurbishment, installation of performance modifications, upgrading of cabin systems and new exterior livery that will transform an older aircraft into a highly capable corporate jet that compares very favourably to more recent models.
At Camber, we are experts at aircraft completion management and apply these skills equally well to corporate jet cabin refurbishments. We assist our clients by assessing their aircraft, making experience-based recommendations on the refurbishment package and then managing the entire process from work scope definition and maintenance facility negotiations through to drawing reviews, technical oversight and final inspection prior to aircraft delivery.
We have the skills and look forward to discussing your project.
